Kirkland Boys & Girls Club Youth Football
The Lake Washington Jr. Kangs, Juanita Jr. Rebels and Kirkland Steelers are members of the Greater Eastside Junior Football Association; the premier youth tackle football organization in the Northwest. For more information on the league's rules, philosophies, and team formation, please visit www.gejfa.org. Kids will learn the basics and fundamentals of football with practices EVERY weekday during the first 3 weeks of the season and 3 times per week after Labor Day. Practices will be at either Juanita High School or Lake Washington High School and begin in mid-August. Kids will play a 9 game schedule beginning Labor Day Weekend.
Kirkland Boys & Girls Club Athletic Department - Mission Statement
The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Kirkland Athletic programs are to provide boys and girls of all ages the opportunity to foster teamwork, participation, fairness and citizenship. Our primary concern is that youth play and learn in a fun supportive atmosphere. Parents are encouraged to show good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.

Make a Difference in a Child's Life: Become a Tutor!
Sometimes the difference between the A students and the B and C students is the concern of a caring adult. Tutoring programs and the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club always have waiting lists of students who are in need of tutors.
As winter sets in and kids are deep in their studies, consider helping a student make this school year the best ever.
Give your time--just one hour each week--to make a difference in a child's life by giving them structured, consistent assistance with homework and academic projects.
For more information, contact Zach Wenman at 425-827-0132 ext. 102.

Land O'Frost, the new kindred spirits of the club!
The Kirkland Boys & Girls Club is honored to announce that Land O'Frost, producer of great tasting lunchmeats, has graciously agreed to sponsor 70 teams in our baseball, basketball and soccer league. Their goodwill goes towards team equipment and uniforms, affordable league fees and scholarships for our in-need youths.
In 2006, Land O'Frost's keen sponsorship of youth sports programs will have directly impacted close to 200,000 children across the county, including 250 here in Kirkland. "Our sponsorship of youth sports programs has been richly rewarding experience for our company," said Donna Van Eekeren, CEO of Land O'Frost, Inc. "We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to deserving communities and help keep children involved in positive character building activities."
